I figured it out. It's the crossover tube gasket that needs to be replaced. That is your issue "extrememom" good luck.

Just ran into the same issue that "extrememom" has, not sure if the head gasket is blown or the cross over tube is leaking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be the dust cove that is attached to the rear of the hub assy, could be a drive belt tensioner bearing gone bad and could be what others mentioned also. Good luck.

It looks like they made the hood & front end paint a little better than the rest of the body paint. I had the reverse problem... the front end of the car is chip central, and the rest of the body...

If it's not a fuse or the bulbs then you'll have to trace back the wiring and see if there a cut or place where it's been rubbed... that will be a tedious process. Eliminate all the obious stuff...

I'd change it.... I've done 3 complete flushes with mine so far at about 86k. I prefer doing a total flush rather that the drain & fill. My fluid is clean and the dipstick doesn't have any balck...

I agree with the throw out bearing, that usually gets the most use and will wear out. Only you can tell how bad the noise is... if it goes completely it could leave stranded and possibly do more...
