if you think it's the coolant temp sensor just test it with a multimeter. it's an easy check and it'll tell you if it's the sensor thats bad. when my connections to my ECTS went bad i threw a 0908...

but it's not needed if your sensor is still good. when you look into the sensor you will see 2 pins. put 1 probe on one of the pins and put the other probe on the other pin (both within the sensor)....
