Which would be the best car: Ford Escort or Mercedes S-Class?

They're really on different ends of the spectrum. The Greddy is about (or more than) double the price of the Megan, so the Megan is always going to be more economical.

On the other hand, Greddy may be a better product, does produce a different sound, and looks different as well.

of the two, GReddy!!! .....or Apexi, or OBX. If money is tight, OBX is the way to go. If money is not an issue, Greddy or Apexi

megan drones alot on highway speeds....and is quite loud and has the rice looking exhaust tip/can apperance...Greddy has a nice deep low tone at low rpms and dosent drone alot..and when you punch it sounds real nice...I would go with greddy...if you want a nice exhaust but on a lower sound level try the Apexi WS exhaust...hopes this help you some..

yeah... but some people (on the org) think that even a lip kit doesn't look "right" on our cars. it's all personal preference. if you're talking about build quality megan's catback is supposed to have excellent quality (ask nealoc), he just didn't like it because it was too loud for his taste. if it's a sound issue than go with apex ws since it's one of the more quiet options out there.

I understand.. thats just my taste as well...

The Megan is supposed to be of great quality, it just would've been real nice if they would've chosen a different style muffler... even if it was loud.

Unfortunately though the Apex ws is no longer made.. its my fav catback..

yup... everybody is entitled to their opinions otherwise everyone would buy the same mods for their max's. i personally like the louder sound and i love my Veilside SS universal muffler. it's really deep and the droning is livable. the reason i didn't get the WS when i had the chance was because it was too quiet and also i like the canister type muffler. to each his own.

I shouldnt say anything, my car is loud as hell

Now its bearable since I put in a small resonator.

I just dont understand sometimes when you say something doesnt look right, people get sand in their pu**ies and talk crap... its the same idea if you like something. You dont have to agree but dont be a bish about it.

oicic... i guess it's because if the mods don't look right in their opinion then it just crap and shouldn't even be considered. cars are like clothes, everybody has their own style.

id go with neither and get a muffler shop to custom make me a catback. then use the money you saved by not getting a $500 catback and buy a quality ypipe and bpipe and then run circles around the people that wasted all their money on shiny namebrand pipes.

Mmm Custom is nice but you never know what your really gonna get...thus the word "Custom" you could get a nice flowmaster set up for half the price of a greddy and sounds really good...I would go with greddy though if you have the money but like someone else stated with the money you save from getting a custom set up done you could but a Y pipe also....

I know myself that I was going to get an OBX because it was half the price of a Greddy but I know there is quality there, and lately in seeing all the civics and preluds with those loud exhausts that look just like the OBX I'm chanign my mind and will just get the Greddy, cause I know I want the quality sound and that only seems to be achieved with the quality exhausts, if there was a way to make the OBX exhaust sound like a Greddy one then I would get the OBX.

It just a matter of what you want your car to sound like, and then how much money youyr willing to spend. If saving a lot of money is the thing then that contradicts modding period cause most of the time were replacing a part that works fine.

its like cheapest Gas VS. Premium
Reasurant VS Fast Food (both feed you and get the job done)

Greddy. It does not drone, and sounds very quiet at highway speeds.

putting quality of the pipes aside in terms of sound isnt based mainly on the resonator? The Greddy Sound good because it has a resonator that is almost as loud as the exhaust tip so it does a good job at sound control, most others dont because the resonator is super small which would cause that bad high pitch "farting" sound.

examples:

SP2:

Megan:

so if the appropriate size resonator is installed shouldnt it sounds good?

Its a combination of the resonator size and muffler as well.
