Nothing a little elbow grease and some coarse grit sandpaper can't fix. Sand it open some and then try to "click" the sub into the box. Given that you go with the box that has the 9 1/4" cutout.

And where do you find an alt. for $25? The cheapest I've seen was Ebay for $95. It's a challenge to find parts where I live locally. ---Not a lot of Maximas around.
