Lol, same happened to me first time on passenger side, boot did not rip, was able to somehow get the cv joint back together by myself with the boot still on. It took some time tho.

Im guessing IACV if it is only the idle that is ****ty, but when you give it gas is ok. All your vacuum hoses connected...

Its not. Timing chain is on opposite side of the engine and I dont think it would be a "timed" click, it would just sound like a chain kinda loose. The noise is coming from around the IACV. ...
