Try disconnecting each coil and feel any changes in idle speed. if you disconnect an ignition cook and don't feel an idle speed change, that ignition coil, or spark plug may be bad.

The engine should be the same. that generation quest 04-09 have the same engine/trans combo as the maxima from 05-06. which is vq35 with 5speed auto.

That is definitively the worn tensioner sound. What you are hearing is the chain rubbing against the metal tensioner shoe holder.
