And sensor 2 is the one after the catalytic converter.
Just follow the rear exhaust manifold untill you come to the second sensor...

The electric fans run when the defroster is on, so turn the defrost off and see if the fans turn off.

It sounds like the car is in fail safe mode(won't go over 2500 rpm).
It is usually a major sensor that is inop, like a MAFS. Check to see if all the sensors are plugged in.

unplug it. If the car runs better it MIGHT be a bad MAFS.
The best way is to compare the signal voltage against the specs in a service manual.
You will need a wiring diagram and a DVOM.
