Sears diehard platinum is sealed and never needs serviced. Same goes for yellow/redtops. Not sure about the rest. one of the problems with the OEM battery is it keeps needing service, i.e water added.

My advice is, if you feel the car underpowered...
My advice is, if you feel the car underpowered and experience any noises/vibration, definatelly get it checked out. It is not going to act like a normal transmission failure (slipping..etc).
