I think part of the problem was I just plugged the radio in to test it verses installing it in the unit with the climate control and storage drawer. The unit has the metal for the radio to ground...

Could not wait, went out to try the radio from my pathfinder and it worked. Strange thing is after grounding the chasis it came on and worked fine (thanks DennnisMik) like I unlocked it or something....

Removal of thethe egr tube is a pain but it made a big difference in my performance. Hacking that stud did take me a while though. My egr tube was almost clogged at the top.

I'm no expert but I would check for fuel or ignition issues. Sounds like it could be a fuel pump but if it's cranking it's not a starter or a ignition switch.
