i just got my valve cover gasket in and i have never done one on a Maxima before so any tips would help and if any one has a link for the fsm so i can get the torque specs or if anyone has the torque specs on hand it would help

i wasn't thinking when i was there got home and started taking the car apart now i can't get back up there till my girl gets back just wanted to find out a lil sooner plus its cheaper and easier to just download it i had a link to it i forgot where i got it from

Torque is in INCH POUNDS not FOOT POUNDS

Yep, that RTV is required!

I didn't read that part when I did mine. I did the back one when I replaced a fuel injector put her all back together and still had a leak. I researched it after the fact and saw the need for the RTV. I had another back fuel injector need replacing so while I was there, removed the valve cover, corrected that problem and it doesn't leak anymore! Coincidentally I've also noticed that my oil light doesn't flicker as much when I start the car, not sure if there is something to that or not, but glad the oil leak is gone!

nope didnt have the fsm till after but im gonna take it apart and rtv it
thanks for the help it only took about an hour anyways it will get done in the morning i am just happy doing the spark plug tube seals fixed my miss thats been my biggest problem with this car since i got it

My 95 FSM calls for "Use genuine liquid gasket or equivalent".
Which RTV do you guys recommend for applying to the corners of valve covers per FSM?
Would one of below Permatex RTVs work perfectly in aiding VC gaskets to seal up corners as shown in FSM?

Permatex High-Temp Red RTV Silicone Gasket
Permatex Sensor Safe Blue Silicone RTV Gasket
