Can I use the steering colume from a 1995 in a 1996?

My friend lost the key and the **** sucking dealer don't keep the key codes anymore. Will this work out?

So my rotted out Maxima is now in the junk yard stripped of any part worth anything. And my 1998 Is rippin' down the road. Had to switch the engine sensors, as the part number were all different...
