Miles and miles

Bought mine new in 2000 and just hit 201000 miles.
REplaced the coils, transmission speed sensor and radiator (hoses, too), but the rest is just maintenance with Mobil 1 and Bosch sparkplugs.

I replaced the driver's side months ago using the Haynes method (Don't touch the Axle). Your way looks much better, based on my experience.

Me, too. And I'm glad I used Mobil-1 from the first oil change. I'm at 200,000 miles and counting with (knock on wood) no rattling from the timing chiain.

getting the O2 Sensor connector disconnected

I pulled on the wires to get the connector off, but it stays put. Is there a release that has to be depressed to get the connector out?
