Sorry for such a delay in the response...I left it unwelded, and all is well. I'm convinced the spot welds were only there to secure the support during the manufacturing process.

Thanks for the replies!

Can anyone enlighten me to the point of this hose routing?

When I did this project, I remember wondering just what Nissan was thinking when they routed this out of the engine bay and back in, but...

It may save you a few hours of work, but I would recommend doing a full replacement. I spent ~$150 for the support, and probably another $10 for paint and bolts. It took me a few hours to do it,...

Worked like a charm!

Mine didn't pull out so easy, even after heating them up by cutting the shafts clean. I started drilling them out and they started to turn loose.

The stud kit you...

I sincerely doubt the engine could fall out, since it is being supported by the left and right mounts.

If your support rotted away completely, the C bar would be low enough to catch on things like...

Sounds like a lot more work than putting a factory support on! Was that scope creep, or did you feel replacing the support wasn't good enough?

Sounds like you have another piece of steel welded to the support for reinforcement? If it was repaired properly, it'd be hard to tell it was replaced.
