Yes, that's called vacuum modulation. Earlier in the thread someone said they looked it up and the Maxima uses the TPS to determine line pressure. It's either one or the other, can't have both.

So since the car is NOT Cali Spec, the only thing really to worry about on the 99's are the coil packs? I'm guessing those are easy to change out so I guess that's not too bad.

I would definitely find it before I drove again.
