Me vs. TransAm--Kill Video :-)
R/T: .7552
60': 1.9558
1/8 ET: 8.889
1/4 ET: 13.867@99.73 MPH
Very dissappointed. Needless to say I was expecting numbers closer to 13.5s. Traction conditions were terrible and shifting was quite complicated with the new STS. I could not get the shifts down pat especially from 2-3rd. Must've missed 3rd in 2 different runs. It was very embarrasing. But not as embarrassing as taking a TransAm after he was talking so much sh!t. I will post the video soon.
It was my first time on slicks as well and didnt warm the tires up properly the 1st three runs. But at the end of the night I was hitting decent 60' times until the last few runs at 1.9558.
Anyone with some advice on shifting with the new STS? I'm not sure if there are any tips out there that could help. But it's worth asking.

That TA had some major traction problems. He was barely moving for the first 330'

It doesn't matter if you win by a mile or an inch, winning's winning....
Okay, somebody shoot me for saying that.
Nice win though, it was beautiful seeing a T/A go down to a 4 door semi-lux car.

Yep, a win is a win. Slower cars beat faster cars at the track all the time. I've beaten my share of LT1/LS1 F-Bodies in my Maxima because the F-Body couldn't get traction in the first few gears. It happens all the time. Most of the drivers in these cars don't have a clue on how to launch.

With your mods mid 13s are definately possible. Which is about what a stock LS1 will do stock, and faster than an LT1.
I can't believe that T/A guy was actually talking ****. 19-seconds will get you beat by an XE Sentra and just about every Honda Civic imaginable. He was about... what, six seconds off?

Looks like he lit the hell out of the tires through the 330' then proceeded to shut it down before the 1/8mi.

What the hell, this is not a kill. Would you post a kill thread if you raced a top fuel dragster that broke at the line and ran 18s?
Seriously, post a TA kill once you have one. I drove a bone stock TA to a 13.5@106 on my first time ever driving a RWD car. It obviously broke but was way faster.

The car can't drive itself tough guy...and since the driver is the key factor in any race, I'd say your post basically doesn't mean jack sh!t.

Coming from someone that thinks a base model neon is faster than the 3.5 6th gen. Whatcha got boost? You may be able to roll down your windows faster than the TA's quarter time in that run but when someones talkin shiat saying they are gonna whip you and does a 1/4 slower than a 5th gen with three cylinders and a slipping tranny. I say much props to shutting that arse up. When I get my new se 5-speed fixed and does a run against a trash talkin supra owner and end up makin him look like he does reverse for whatever reason you have to remember that you should trash talk after the victory. Ask Freddy Mitchell from the Eagles.

i sort of know what you mean because he shut down, but like i tell my boys with 12 sec cars you still got to get to the line before me no excuses. i raced a twin turbo supra and killed him, his excuse was his boost controller didnt work but talked crap right before the race. if it was for money he still would pay up broke car or not.

I say yes you win, but I wouldn't call that a challenge, race a f-body who knows what they are doing and there will be a challenge for you...Yeah our imports are fast, but so are domestic muscle cars. You'd be surprised with the amount of power those pushrod powered V8's can muster up. Don't dog 'em, don't get cocky and even if you think you got the little 1996 camaro z28 beat before the race, remember what you are up against. I have heard of a 1998 camaro z28 ss (trans am WS6) run high 12's in the 1/4, this car was stock mind you. If a V8 camaro/firebird/mustang can find a way to get traction, then ya' sure as hell better hope that it's your lucky day my friend. Yeah winning is winning...blah blah blah, but if you are gonna brag about beating a Trans Am that was driven by a guy who knew jack **** about racing, then that is pretty sad dawg, sorry. I am done with my sermon now.
