Exactly that. It is a heat sink. I do beleive that portion will be inserted into the evaperator box. When you pull the old one out, you will see the same thing.

Do you know if this engine is good? The engines are the same. I don't know if you noticed but there is a stamped dot on the backing plate of the Timing belt cover.

Evrything that I had stated is easy. One thing you may have a problem with is to remove the axle nut. Should only be done with a proper sized socket.
