If you have a 99 you'll want to replace all coil packs w/ OEM. That year is notorious for bad ones.

I have a 96 and in my case a couple of my coil packs had both of the inner prongs bent upwards....

I'm not 100 percent sure what is added but the cali spec has additional emissions parts. .I think it has an additional o2 sensor. So if u were fed and installed Cali you'd have a big ol hole.

Yes, start by replacing the primary tensioner. There are two black access covers on the timing cover. The rear is the main tensioner, the front is the the water pump. Remove anything in your way....
