Custom CAI: k&n or r2c

So I wanna make a true CAI but i've notices the few guys that have done em (dan and wally lol) use an already bought intake to start off and as the filter....so the question it: should I go with K&N...

it does come with some basics but everything is pretty str8 forward. ive never ever done any mods on a car so it took a friend nd i abou 4-5 hrs for all 4. the front ones were a lil more diffucult...
