Yup was fine for 3+ years in my 4th gen not a single problem. When you twist it all the way it sits pretty far away from the rad, like almost a foot away. Throw on a heatshield and I bet you get...

unhook it from that bolt and twist it so it sits far away from the rad and under the battery. I drove like this for years with no ill effect.

best intake on any maxima, other then fi of course, is a fender wall intake. Lowest intake temps by far.

intakes just make noise mostly anyways. you are lucky if you see 5whp, which isn't worth .1...
