TB Restrictor plate?

I'm searching some VIAS threads and found that people have removed a "TB Restrictor Plate". I've searched and couldn't find too much info on it. Can someone please indicate what this is, and what are the benefits and cons of removing it.

Thanks.

I dont know if its called a restrictor plate, but behind the TB there's a plate with a semi-funnel looking flap that (from what I could tell) is to improve the mixture of the fresh air, with that which the EGR puts back in (the flap leads the air right towards the outlet of the EGR tube end). It really doesnt do anything, just some people end up with a distinctive whistle at the intake after doing that, thats about it.

TDot that's one thing I forgot to mention in the PM. I guess I was taking for granted you'd already removed it but yeah get rid of that thing.

This is the thread you want to see (NMex you missed this one... ):

Its ok, I asked you a lot. This is pretty minor but every little things counts. I'll pull this when I fix my VIAS.
