Thanks Gordon. You know I'm never satisfied with it, so it'll probably change again this fall. Thinking of that spare tire well enclosure still.

SE, the install looks superb thus far! I'm still trying to get around to covering my fiberglass enclosure, and lastly want to redo my flush mounted lcd faceplate to something similar to what you're doing, that is, mount the lcd back some (since there is so much room back there) and use the oem face plate for security reasons. That is next up on my list of items to tackle after i possibly get a new lcd screen

Anyway, keep itup! i look forward to seeing how you get wires ran to the ash tray and have it still open and close easily i decided against using my ashtray for any custom switches, *****, etc and just made a face plate out of poly styrene plastic for my volume **** and cell phone holder. however, it's gonna suck if i get anew cell phone

That trim around your stereo looks awesome! If not for the color difference, I'd think it was factory.

Thanks TheBigDu.. if I knew where to get the same interior/dash color I'd of used that in a second, so instead I took 2 different duplicolor brand colors and "mixed" them, it came out too gray and I got tired of f'ing with it, so I just left it the way it is until I can find the right color.

BTW, you've got some sweet gear!

I do like everything that you have installed in your car from the hidden head unit to the subs. I definitely like the hidden head unit. I have an idea I want to try that I haven't seen yet. Having a screen in the place of the oem bose head unit and taking off the front of the bose head unit like you did, and attatch is somehow so that when I leave my car parked somewhere, I could place it over the screen so it looks like there is a stock bose cd player there instead of a screen. Anyways, very nice setup.

I don't think I ever did post a pic of my HU and iPod finally installed. The iPod location isn't exactly what I was going for, but it plays through the AUX and charges as well, so I'm pleased overall.

Looks very nice, but why's that thing so dirty (the HU)?

I think Eclipses like to be clean.

So why did you decide to go with the GXE trim piece, instead of the OEM faceplate hidden route?

btw, your install looks really nice, I'm sure it sounds great!

I was thinking about doing something similar for the 4th gen maxima...my 30gb ipod video fits perfectly into the pop-out ashtray if you remove the part of the ashtray that comes out (for cleaning purposes).

I want to install an iPod dock inside the ashtray of my 4th gen max (like SEmy2K2go did for the 5th gen max). I'll play around with it this summer :P
