Nissan wont pay **** for this issue. They pretty much said it's a fairly common issue but wont pay for the repairs. :\

Not necessarily, but having the port face the same direction of the sub CAN augment the output. You can also have the port fire into the cabin through the rear deck, but that'll require quite a bit...
