There's stock mounting depth.. and then there's mounting depth when you add a mdf ring which makes it a lot deeper. I was easily able to mount the 6.5" Rainbows using a MDF ring.

Hi,

My I35 Sport (w/ 17" stock wheels) drives rather harshly, especially when it goes over low spots on the road. (My 2000 Max SE drove smoother)

I know it will fit in the area down there. It may or may not fit in the ashtray hole alone and may require cutting of the trimpiece around it. It's pretty close.
