Replace those clips first. As for the reason the injectors are failing, I think it's due to the coil, but could be wrong. There are probably 50 threads about them to search.

Do what Greeny said. You might have to pull the subharness for the injectors to test one of them because of the distributor or intake manifold being in the way. Pinout/picture for it is in the FSM.

FSM has a diagnosis procedure. In mine it's page EF & EC 115, but yours may differ. It'll be in the "Troubleshooting Diagnosis" section....

I'm dropped on Eibachs, and I still don't need to use a jack. :P Just turn the wheel completely to the right. The only consideration is finding a drain pan short enough to clear the oil pan.

You can install a VE pump on a VG afaik, at least on a 1994 VG. They're around $90 new.
