I'm replacing the rear brakes on my 2005 Maxima SE and the rotors look pretty good. There are no big scratches or gouges in the rotor surface (old pads are still intact surfaces, not down to rivets...

Just to confirm, I just had the dealer replace my low pressure A/C hose. It was leaking at the connection by the oil dipstick. Does anyone make a decent aftermarket hose that will last?

Don't know which engine you have, but on the SE it's easiest to pull the front passenger wheel off, take off the fender liner splash guard , both upper and front lower, and you can get at them...

Clacking can also be due to a bad timing chain tensioner. Sounds the same. The TSB for this should be up in the stickies.
