late to the response...you'll need a pilot bearing remover. looks like a gear puller but reversed, there's usually a slide hammer attached to it so you can pull it out.

the carrier looked identical to me but i swapped it anyway from auto to manual. the VE to VG manual should be same. i had a VG 5spd trans but then swapped in a VE trans on my VG after that input...

well if you have an SE then wiring should be there since they all came from factory with fogs (SE did).

if it's a GXE you should have the bolt holes in the bumper and not sure if wiring is there...
