I had this same problem with my 2k 5 speed. It's the plastic intake manifold. Lots of 2k and 2k1 folks have had this problem. My dealer wanted to replace the intake but since it was not under...

I picked a pair of 9004s at AutoZone. They are very bright and white. No blue at all. They were around $24.95 each.

Re: Re: LAG IN 2ND.

You should not have to floor it to get the downshift to first. Just slowly press the pedal down and it should shift down quickly without jerking. If it does not then you have a tranny problem. ...

LAG IN 2ND.

The problem is that our little 3 liter engines lack power/torgue at low RPM and when the tranny does not shift down to low and you give it a little gas, at low RPM, it is lugging the engine. Like...

Re: Arrow96: I'm a bit confused by your post. nm

VI stands for Variable Induction. The manifold has two different air paths. At the low to mid rev range, the long path is used. This maximizes low to Mid range power and torque. At high rpm the the...

Re: Mileage too high?

I just sold a 2K SE 5 speed at 50000. I had very little probs with it. One O2 sensor and a squeaking AC fan. AC fan fixed under warranty. O2 sensor not. I had one problem that the dealer never...

Re: Re: Just Put Nightrider's Intake In...

It doesn't make any difference how "custom" your intake is, the ECU cuts off fuel to the engine at 6500 RPM. The only way to get to 7000 is with a modded ECU... My guess is that your tach is...

If you look under the hood, just inboard (toward center of car) and below master cylinder, you can see the ABS controller (if you have ABS). It is a silver device with numerous steel brake lines...

Sluggish

Check to see if you have any ECU codes. You may have a bad knock sensor. This is common in our cars and causes the ECU to retard the timing. A bad knock sensor may not trigger a CEL. This will...

All of this talk seems to be a moot point as the picture shows a clip device for the spark plug wire like a timing light. Since all later model Maximas don't have high tension plug wires, how could...
