But he banged on the oil filter only. And the rubber seal around the filter was good. We made sure to lube it a bit as well....So confused...

I just changed my oil with a buddy of mine. We drained the oil...Did that flawlessly. Removing the oil filter was a little harder...It got really tight so he banged on it a few times and it came off....

I find that sometimes if I try to start the car immediately, the car won't start sometimes. I just wait a second or 2 to get the battery started....Probably not useful...But I like the way it sounds...

It could also be that because you lost some low end power that you feel your car isn't going anywhere despite the sound, so you rev higher and higher. Thus, wasting more gas.
