On my old GSR, it would start up fine, then just cut off almost like a main relay in a Honda, but then sometimes I could barely hold the key forward after it was running and wouldnt have a problem....

I'd think the only real way you could beef it up would be to weld some kind of bar or something across it, kind of doubling it...
