You treat it like the rest of you paint. Its no different than getting wax between the hood or the doors. And no it doesnt oxidize paint. You do need to polish it though or else it will yellow faster...

Any pics? Im pretty sure water ruins the appearance of velour, so you shouldnt be using regular fabric cleaning products. You need a way to dry-clean it

Regardless, the clay and zaino would remove the wax. You shouldnt need to use dawn, and using dawn is harmful for your seals and trim...
