I hear ya on the practice. I've had mine out several times too. Since you're experienced I wouldn't worry about it - you know, bulbs only blow out after they've been replaced ha!

The install is very easy but as long as you've got everything out, I'd go ahead and replace all the cluster's bulbs. It would suk to have a bulb go out soon after you've replaced the whole thing.

Check out carsound's website - catalytic convertors can go bad but it is usually the result of another failure like bad, or tired, O2 sensors, leaking fuel injectors, etc. Hope that makes sense.
