I don't know if this would work, but try heating the shifter rod and then cool it down in the freezer. Hopefully, the cold will contract the rod and make it easier to move the ball.

I don't like the interior materials. Nissan used too much plastic/rubber in the pillars and dash which squeak and rattle very easily. I like the interior finish in my Accord better.

You probably have a stuck or dragging caliper. Lift up the wheel and turn the wheel to see if there is drag without application of the brakes.
