I assume the noise you describe is occuring during shifting (synchro), not after 3rd gear is engaged (bad gear). I have that problem also, and switching to Redline MT-90 helped, but did not...

I just put in MT-90 last night - immediate improvement in shifting. I paid $49 (CA tx included at Baum's auto suppply in Mission Viejo)

FYI - Car only took 4 qts.\

Those of you that switched to Redline MTF - did it help?

My 2k2 6 speed doesn't shift smoothly. Unless I shifting slowly, and have the clutch on the floor, it 'gets hung up' during shifting (like there is a shift gate and it's getting caught on a corner)....
