Found out that my car doesn't have an IAC valve, just an electronic throttle body that does the job.

1. Could a dirty throttle body cause the car to crank but rarely start?

Could the throttle body be dirty enough to actually prevent the car from starting most times? That's the problem I'm having and trying to find a solution for (a lot of cranking and rarely starting).
