It's definitely not a left-hand (tightening direction) thread. Left will definitely remove the castle nuts. If you've got rust make sure to break out some kind of penetrating oil.

75ohms is extremely high for 4ga wire - even 10ft of it should be no more than 0.002ohms when new, to give an idea. Maybe a few ohms maximum including the terminal connectors and the fuse.

Try cleaning the EGR tube[s] and valve first if it said EGR flow insufficient (there's a cleaning guide in the stickies), the passages love to collect carbon and can cause the valve to stick as well....
