As a final update. I've put probably about 110 +/- 5 miles since the fix on the connector earlier this week and the car is running fine. Thanks for all the help, glad the car is running fine.

I changed my spark plugs less than 30k ago. The electrical tape seems to be doing the job. I suppose i just need a new MAF connector. The wires were frayed and exposed to each other.
