It is a rock solid trans.
Got one in the family still, a 00 automatic, its bulletproof and shifts like new with the odd drain and refill of the trans fluid.

Well that to me is the only other option too (cracked or broken lines) but I did not see anything when I was under there replacing the canister. I don't know if there is a way to test these lines...

Stuff like that almost never ends up being an issue. I wouldn't sweat it too much.
