I'm thinking it's timing chain tensioner...

I'm thinking it's timing chain tensioner slap......it sounds pretty ugly at idle but is completely gone at 3k rpm (not under load...haven't driven it yet)

I drive 150 miles a day toand from work...

I bought my '02 GLE in Oct '09 with fewer miles than that.....it has a tad over 93K now....all highway. It's also a virgin car in near mint condition...no mods at...

Isopropyl Alcohol with 0000 steel wool and then microfiber. Don't use heavy aromatic solvents....they will eff up your plastic. Rinse with water.
