I just did the same job myself and paid $130 for a reman'd alternator and $10 for a belt, and it took me about 5 hours with an extra trip to the auto shop. I don't think you did too bad at $500+.

It could be many things. I don't know if you're giving us enough info. If it's a alternator problem, that could be easily diagnosed with a multimeter, or by taking it for a test at your auto parts...

There are numerous threads on this. Perform a search. Many people swear that it works well. Others don't notice any difference. I added an extra ground, and in my opinion, I think it helped.

I agree the TPS is troublesome with this vehicle. Also, I concur with your observation that the TPS rarely fails in this vehicle. It probably often gets swapped out when a simple adjustment would do...

I agree with MaxiBronx. I don't think that spraying water in your engine compartment will produce anything. There are no rotors or spark plug wires in our cars. (Or any Japanese car since the 80's).

Its an easy DIY project and costs less than $30. It should be pretty obvious if one of the belts is missing... My bet is on the alternator, though.
