3 1/8" hole is perfect. I'm not worried about hydrolocking. My splash shield down there is completely intactand there's also cardboard there just to be safe.
You have to drill a hole for the intake. Not too hard but can be a pain. I did it in the freezing rain at 6pm with a drill, a hammer and a flat head screwdriver lol.
I had one on my old 4th gen. It was a Warpspeed and I noticed nice gains from the mid-high range but lost low end because of the bigger piping. I'm gonna get another one soon but with smaller piping to keep my low end.
oh..cool,any idea where i can pick up one?
is the mevi some kind of swap?
i've seen some really clean engine bays tht look different from mine..where 'mevi' was mentioned
00vi is reffering to the variable intake...youll pretty much see ppl with 3 diff engine covers the one that comes on most 3.0s that says "nissan v6 3000" that only covers 3 coilpacks and comes in 2 diff colors, the one that comes on the 3.5 and 02 and up and covers about half of the engine bay, or the most rare of the 3...the 01 anniversary edition cover(also came on 2001 infinity i30) that is made for the 3.0 that looks like the 3.5 cover...also 4ths gens can get a mevi cover.hope this helps, need anyother help id be happy to atleast try
