3.5 Hybrid swap with a 2008 Altima.

3.5 Hybrid swap with a 2008 Altima.
I asked a year or so ago about this, and was told the 08 Altima had HR heads so the swap was not the same as the 07/08 Maxima engine.
Just wondering- Has anyone tried a hybrid swap using the 08 Altima style VQ?
I am shopping for a new engine (again) and want to explore all the options.
Thanks

When you say "hybrid" what are you hybriding?
Are you dropping in an 08 Altima engine, completely? or are you looking to swap heads here and there etc?
If the former not the latter, take a look at SurraTT's thread.

Yes, I saw that thread. It is informative and makes me think that what I am looking to do is not possible/too complex..
He is putting the 2009 VQ35 in to a 2002.. I want to run it with a VQ30 ECU (swap timing cover).

And of course there's always this:

Gen II VQ35? The last engine I had was pulled from a 2008 Maxima. I assume that was a Gen II... I don't know the Gen's.
The intake post is interesting, but I am using a 350Z LIM with a modified Kenetix UIM.

So, you had an 08 Maxima engine in there? But now you want an 08 Altima engine?
The 08 Maxima is the same as an A34 minus the plastic VIAS assembly.

We did it in FL a while back. It's honestly a waste unless you do a full ecu swap too just find another gen1 or gen2 vq35. Procedure is the same as standard hybrid swaps for the most part.

Is there any disadvantage to starting with the 09 versus the earlier VQ engines?
Just a matter of shopping for engines, it seems the 09 engines are about the same price as the 06 engines. the 07/08 engines are harder to find/more expensive. And obviously the 09 engines will have lower mileage on them.
Full ECU swap would be nice, but I am currently running a 1995 JWT ecu with my supercharger setup (big injectors, and maf). so there is some $$ invested there already that would all go to waste with an ECU swap. I'd probably have to do Haltech (or similar) anyway. Lots more money.
