Strut Bar

Mod: Front Strut Tower Brace (FSTB)

Price: $42-$149

Available: at www.stillen.com , www.ebay.com

Performs:
One of the most common upgrades on a modified car is mounting Strut Bars. A Strut Bar (also known as strut tower bar or strut brace) is designed to tie the two opposing strut towers together as a single solid unit. The purpose of a strut tower bar is to reduce flex that these towers experience during hard cornering. When taking a turn a car's strut towers normally flex, resulting in bodyflex and losing some traction.

As Strut Tower Bars are designed to keep your strut towers from flexing, they distribute the pressure applied to one strut tower when taking a turn to both towers instead of just one.

Rear Sway Bar

Mod: Rear (Anti-)Sway Bar

Price: $139-$159

Available: www.stillen.com , www.cattman.com

Performs:
A component that's often used in a suspension system to control body roll. A sway bar may be used on the front and/or rear suspension to help keep the body flat as the vehicle rounds a corner. This greatly improves a vehicle's cornering agility. Replacing the sway bar with one of a larger diameter can increase it even more.

The Maxima comes stock with a light-hollow oem RSB. This upgrade will eliminate most body roll (lean) in hard turns.

Install Difficulty: * * (5 being the hardest)

Stillen: hollow yet stiffer/heavier than stock, only fits 04, use stock rubber bushings (try to buy G35 bushings).
Progress (Cattman): solid, even stiffer and obviously heavier than hollow ones. fits 04 & 05, Polyurethane bushings, powdercoated.

Coilovers

Mod: Coilovers (K-sport, D2)

Price: $1,100- 1,200 (org group buy $740)

Available: group deals here on the ORG www.ksportusa.com , www.nolimitmotorsport.com

performs:
Coilover Kits provide the ultimate in suspension technology featuring its 36-way adjustable dampening, adjustable spring perch, adjustable body and pillow-ball mounts. The Coilovers has been designed with professional road racing in mind offering extremely high value and performance.

Coilovers replace springs and front struts and rear shocks. They allow you to adjust ride height and stiffness.

Install Difficulty: without air tools * * * * *, with air tools * * (5 being the hardest)

**side note: do some research before buying a spring and strut set up.. look around for coilover deals, there is a possibility you can get a fully adjustable suspension set up for less than a normal spring/strut set up.. sometimes a few dollars more.. 880 for a regular set up vs the 740(if you get a deal) for a full adjustment coilover set up..**

Active tuning Struts

Mod: Koni Struts (front) KYB AGX Shocks (Rear)

Price: front-$375, rear-$255

available: www.activetuning.com

performs: **pm me with your opinions**

When lowering the Maxima, this mod ensures you do not blow your oem struts or shocks which are not designed for a lowered ride. You can adjust the ride from soft to stiff. This is a cheaper alternative than coilovers.

Y-pipe

Mod: Y-pipe

Price: $300

Available: www.customenterprise.com

performs:
The long wait is over, Custom Enterprise is proud to announce the newest item to our product line, a high flowing race y-pipe for your 2004+ Maxima. Once again Custom Enterprise is the first to offer this product on the market today. The 2004 3.5L Maxima engine already is the fastest stock Maxima ever, now you can make it even faster. With precise mandrel bends, tig welding and stainless steel construction, you are sure to have precise fitment and maximum horsepower gains. Other companies have attempted to design this part with minimal success due to the fact that their y-pipes make the exhaust extremely loud. Not ours, adding the Custom Enterprise Y-Pipe will add little if any additional noise to your exhaust system, the competition can't say that. The flex section on our y-pipe also sets it apart from the competition. Many other y-pipes on the market save on cost by using a cheaper lower quality flex section, this results in an annoying “bee buzzing” sound under acceleration. We are sure you have heard one of your Maxima buddies complaining about this before. The Custom Enterprise y-pipe flex section was manufactured to ensure a smooth even flow with no “bee buzzing” sound.
Be the first to have this long sought after part. We recommend having a second set of tires on hand, because you will be spinning your tires real easy!!

Under Drive Pulley

Mod: Southwest Autoworks and Unorthodox UDP

Price: $95-$190

available: www.customenterprise.com, redlinemax.com, www.sportcompactonly.com

performs:
Our Underdrive Series of pulley sets provide power gains through weight loss and through the underdriving of all the accessories (which accounts for about 15% additional gain).

However, we do not push underdriving for two main reasons. First, it is important to keep charging systems, air conditioning, power steering, and water pumps moving fast enough for every day driving. Second, not much horsepower is gained from extreme underdriving.

In most applications all of our underdriving is done with the crank pulley, not the accessory pulleys. This is done so maximum weight loss can be achieved at the crank where most of the horsepower gains are found.

Power gains are still achieved with these billet aluminum pulleys. The reduced rotational mass allows for more power transfer to the drive wheels. 80% of the gains seen with racing pulleys is from weight loss.

Mod: NWP Engineering Phenolic Thermal Intake Manifold Spacers

Price: $225

Available: at www.nwpengineering.com

Performs: The NWP Engineering Thermal Intake Spacers are made of a high quality durable type of phenolic and prevents heat from transferring to the intake manifold. The intake manifold temperatures decrease by 40 degrees on AVERAGE and the spacers yield an average dyno proven gain of 10hp and 12ft-lbs of torque. Your car will no longer feel sluggish due to heat soak after it warms up!

The kit comes with 5 spacers which include two Lower Intake Manifold Spacers, an Upper Intake Manifold Spacer, an Elbow Spacer, and a Throttle Body Spacer. The kit also includes all the fasteners and hardware needed as well as printed installation instructions.

All spacers are CNC Machined to the highest tolerances and are port matched. Port matched intake spacers is a very important aspect, since the poorly sized OEM intake gaskets are no longer used. This drastically improves airflow over stock! Also, the spacers can be reused as many times as you like since they will not misshape, soften, or warp over time. They will easily outlast the life of your vehicle!

Installation Difficulty: * * (2-3 labor hours)
