driving under 1000 rpm

so today got into my max, started fine, SES comes on, and the car wont go above 1k rpm...limp mode

drive home took 30 min (2 miles away)

any ideas why?

I`m thinking bad MAF but i want to be mistaken ( $$$ on 03)

I've tried pulling codes per http://www.technosquareinc.com/350reset.htm but with no success, does anybody have a different procedure for that?

Thanks

use the procedure in the how-to sticky. its super easy to read the codes using the normal procedure

You can you just need to remove the IAT sensor from the 2k2 MAF and put it into the 01 MAF here's a link that should help go to the last page post #89 tells you how to do it.

P1122 - Electric Throttle Control Performance Problem

P1126 - (2002-2003) Throttle Control Motor Relay Circuit Open

both of the show up twice..(P1122 x2 and P1126 x2)

What do you guys think might be the problem...i have a new MAF for replacement if necessary...but per codes i don't think its a MAF

any suggestions?

cleaned your throttle body recently?

the reason they show up twice is that they keep repeating. if you watched long enough they would show up 100 times

gotcha...

regarding cleaning - nothing was done to the car recently...
The SES just came on and the limp mode happened hehe...

Update: left the car overnight and right now its running normally (with the SES on)

well 1000rpm is below limp mode (2500), which to me means that the throttle body just wasnt responding. that probly could mean several things, either the TB is on its way out or it was throwing a temper tantrum and is fine. i guess youll find out soon enough. lol

not so bad if it turns out to be fine. i would reset the ECU or leave the battery disconnected for a couple days, then do all the relearns. it would be unusual for a throttle body to crap out without having been messed with

I don't think it's MAF related. the problem is that the throttle is not getting signal.
