Plug and Play LED's 98-99 gauge cluster

I remember someone posting on here a while back about the Neo-x wedge bulbs.
I decided to take the plunge and order some to see if they fit. After removing my old cluster to put in my new SE cluster, I took the bulbs and measured and all of the good stuff. Come to find out the Neo-5 bulbs fit. I ordered the NEOx-HP cool white bulbs, came to like $14 shipped for 5 (4 behind faces, and one behind odometer). All in all Im pretty happy minus the fact they look soft blue through the faces, and they are a little hot right where the bulbs are, BUT if you are like me and not the most electrically inclined person and dont like wiring, then this is your answer.

Also the needles are much clearer in person, i just had my white balance off slightly to pic up the true color of the LED's

I had a similar look with some single smd leds from ebay for a while. they were not nearly as bright though, and i wanted a brighter than stock white, which wasnt acheived with the cool white. i just ordered some 3 smd leds from superbright and they are awesome! i didnt even think to change the one behind the odometer...ill do that tonight. i also put blue leds in my turn signals and check engine. ill post another pic once i get the odometer bulb switched. gauges look nice now

hey op, i got the same bulbs...

im going to go with warm white, as i want an oem clear white instead of this, but yes, those bulbs are nice.

when i get those, im going to order the individual leds to do the climate control and switches as well

im not sure what year that cluster is but the cluster i have in mine doesnt have a lit up odometer.. its the mechanical type instead of the digital type.. i wish i had one with a digital odometer.
they are usually much clearer and easier to read

with these bulbs you will need a small, thin flat head to twist the bulb in place. Unlike the OE bulbs, they dont have the nub to turn them with

Give me a few days, ordered red, should be brighter than schmelly's

Don't forget, I made an interior LED thread, this is great stuff for it, post your dawn/day/dusk/night photos at many angles with the details of which bulbs you brought!!

Looks good tigershark ! What mm did you select when you bought the bulbs ? They have 3 choices. 3mm 4mm or 5mm

It also looks like these bulbs have there own bases, which is all the better as I can save my stock ones if I want to switch back to lightbulbs later.

To bad they don't make warm white in the NEO lineup since I want to do the auto climate control as well.
I'm just not a fan of the blue output.

Let me know the outcome. Or we can see if superbright has the ability to get or make them in warm white.

^^ remove the short flip the bulbs 180 degrees they only work one way you should have popped a fuse if you had a short to power a short to ground would result in the lights always illuminated the fuse is there so you dont fry up some wires or burn your car to the ground did you see any magic smoke? that would result in death of a component

hey brad you have a 99 cluster right?

i got my bulbs in today installed them and i must say im a little dissaponted they dont light up like yours do 60mph and 140mph 1k and 5&1/2 to 6k are real dim actually black

wut gives??

I have the 99 se cluster. Did you get the regular bulbs or the HP bulbs (little SMD led on top)? if you just got the ones that were $1.29...thats your problem
