Need some help. I been having trouble with finding 17" rims that fit my 95 maxima.

I have a budget of 400 without shipping.

Please help

Also check craigslist. You need a wheel with a bolt pattern of 5x114.3 (also known by some as 5x4.5)

Remember to check the center bore as well. It has to be at least 66.2 IIRC.

Do you know what kind of wheels you want? I am assuming you want something aftermarket, correct?

You could also try and see if there is anything over at tirerack.com. I have heard they are priced someone fairly.

I haven't had any problems with the bolt pattern. The struts gets in the way of the tire.

center bore is the diameter of the hole in the middle of the wheel. if it is too small, the wheel won't bolt all of the way down (and can get crooked, and wobble as you drive, if you try anyway).
the problem you seem to have is the offset is too high. that is the distance from the mating surface of the brake hat to the center of the wheel. too high, and your wheel hits the strut. too low, and your wheels stick out.

Some people pay a lot for this - good wheel spacers are $200+/axle. Oh yeah, offset is how far the mounting surface is from the center of the wheel. Spacers decrease offset which you need if your wheels are hitting the strut. I believe our stock offset is 45mm with variations for SE and i30t models. You should check in the wheel/tire forum for more details. Here's a link to the sticky if you're too lazy:

Those should be fine. They are actually close to the 5th gen SE wheel size. IIRC, those are 45 mm, where yours are 40mm, so they'll stick out just a little bit more.

45 offset will pull them closer to the strut housing not further out.

Very true.

Lower offset = closer to fender.
Higher offset = closer to strut.

40mm offset will fit fine if the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and the center bore is at least 66.2 .

You misread my post.

45 is the OEM 5th gen SE wheel, 40 is his ebay wheel.

^^^they should fit cause even though the offset is 40 the width of the wheel is only 7in...

A quick fitment question

I'm looking for a set of used winter rims for my '97 Maxima and have come across the following:

- a set from a 1989 Mazda RX-7
- a set from a 1992 Infiniti Q45

Will these fit my Maxima? They are both 5 x 114.3

from what i have heard and remember reading the wheels the FC wont fit cause the center bore isnt big enough. as for the Q45, they will fit...

Hey there - Both will fit, but the Mazda will be a little loose (1 mm); I tried rims off a 626 and had a slight high speed vibration. I don't know if they make a 1mm adapter ring, but if your hubs are cleaned (no rust) you'll have that slack. Also, the centre bore may not allow dust cap to fit inside rim (may depend on rim design- 626 was too small), thus not allowing proper mounting against hub. I had to remove the rear dust caps (front doesn't have caps). If you can deal with these issues and get them for a good price, they'll work.

Washers on each lug bolt before install of wheel fixes the 1mm issue... though I thought that the center bore helped to 'center' the wheel...
