Personal -automobile- question

I own a 1999 Maxima (my first car) and I own a 2006 350z. Frankly I've been through my share of import (from japan) cars and I think it might be time to move onto a different scene and I was wondering if anyone here on the forums has ever owned a E46 M3?

I ask because many of you orgers have experience with different cars and I'm trying to find someone who's owned something completely different than the Maxima; specifically the E46 model m3.

The trade off for getting a m3 would be to sell my other two cars and be left with one car for both a daily/weekend car. I do have a motorcycle, that I bought when I came back from deployment, but I realized that I'm not much of a motorcycle guy lol. Laid it down once and yeahhhh..painful experience.

Please don't flame me or say that it's my money and my decision as I am well aware of those two things. Just trying to locate some m3 owners and their transition from their maxima DD to a m3 DD and what it's like.

Thanks my orgmates!

it really depends what you want it for and how much you are willing to spend. In terms of performance and quality, the M3 is a much better car then the Maxima, no question about it. If you are talking about a cheaper more reliable daily driver then the Maxima is better. Personally I drive an expensive daily driver but its a sacrafice Im willing to take.

I've driven one, and it's basically glued to the road handling, real fun, but the owner (friend) complains about it breaking down, so be ready for that.

I heard that the SMG tranny was a real problem (breakdowns) in some e46 M3 years, but that is the main problem I have heard from some people I knew who had SMG m3's
