If this quote doesn't keep you from street racing I don't know what will:
Quote:

He says police found victims and severed body parts in the street when they arrived.

Just saw it on the news. The crash site was a carnage. The maxima completely cut in half between the front wheel well and the door. No wonder the dude lost his legs... The driver that survived should have just off himself. He's facing multiple counts of murder. Sucks for the neighbors... staring at scattered body parts on the street.

Great choice being 8 months pregnant, having your sister in the passenger seat, 3 guys in the back seat, and choosing to street race. Talk about the ultimate death match.......
Very sad indeed.

Hm... road rage at 11pm from all the traffic?
Even though if it was, it's VERY mature to speed EXCESSIVELY with a 8mo preggo and a little girl and a crap load of people in a 6th gen...
I just hope I won't get pulled over for some bs...

It really doesn't matter if she was racing or not, she was traveling at a high rate of speed to wrap that Maxima around that tree like she did, She should have been more responsible and thought about her baby first before speeding...on top of all that she should have been thinking about her 16 YR. old sister in the back seat who was also killed. Its one thing to punch the gas every once in a while when driving by yourself , its another thing when u have passengers. Just my .02

That is one reason why I really don't speed in my maxima at all. I used to do it on the 110(the curvy old freeway portion) and in the canyons. I never did it with passengers in the car, and decided not to do it at all because I do not want my family to ever have to bury me because I died doing stupid stuff in my car.

Hmm I dont know. If it was road rage there could have been another car chasing the max with a gun or something and pushed the car off the road into a tree. Either way its still sad that all those people lost thier life.

lol It's a fun little part of the 110. I would see crashes when it was pouring rain and the freeway would be completely jammed.

Wouldn't they be calling the cops for help if they were being chased by an anger driver with a gun? And I thought there was a 3rd car involved? To completely destroy the car to that level, they gotta been speeding more than 80 or something.

They may have called and thats how they found out it was a road rage case. I was just trying to say nobody but the people that were there knows exactly what happened so we really shouldnt put all the blame on the driver untill all the details are out.

yes I noticed all the crashes there too. people going too fast for what their car can handle. I used to go to pretty insane speeds there too, anywhere from 95mph(in most turns, except that really sharp turn where I could only go 70-75mph) to 105mph in some of the less sharp turns(really stupid crap, even though the freeway was pretty empty when I would do this). I stopped that several months ago. I got the crap scared out of me when a car almost hit me because he couldn't handle a turn at the speeds he was going. That and the fact that people going 50 would constantly get in my lane, causing me to brake hard, causing brake fade, almost having me rear end them. There is also the little issue of possibly getting my liscence suspended if I was caught going those speeds, and no way of saving myself if something went wrong. I now go the speed limit on that freeway
back on topic. I can understand the speed of this maxima in the crash if she was being threatened with a gun and was trying to get away. In situations such as those people panic and may not be able to control their cars as well as they normally would

I knew there would be something on here about this accident. The crash site is literally less than 2 blocks from my house. I actually heard the crash itself while studying in my room. From my house it was a straight terrifying sound. Ridiculously loud. Not sure how else to describe it. and the Medivac chopper was hovering really low for about 45 minutes trying to figure out a place to land. I didnt go see what made the noise at the time, and now I am very glad I didnt. after reading what the scene was like, I am sure that I could not have handled what I would have seen. There is still a great deal of blood in the surrounding area and on the tree that the maxima was wrapped around. I get chills everytime I drive by and see the blood on that tree. There has been an on going candle light vigil since the morning after the crash. When I drive by I constantly see people (friends and relatives, I'm guessing) crying there eyes out. It is an utterly tragic site......
That stretch of colorado has a high activity of racing. almost nightly I hear screeching tires and hard reving engines from my room. Aperrently the maxima was racing and was sideswiped by one of the cars involved, making it swerve, hop the center divider curb and crash into the tree at 70 mph, give or take. I have no idea why a pregnant woman would be involved in a street race with four other people in the car. Plain youthful stupidity, I'm guessing
I am surprise at how much this accident has effected me. I have done my fair share of street racing (mostly on the highway), but I am not sure that I EVER will after this. I'm not gonna preach about the dangers of street racing as I have read so many of those and always thought they were stupid. But I finally understand what the people in those post and story were talking about..... and I don't even know any of the victims. I can not imagine what I would be feeling if I had know them.
Sorry for the long story, I needed vent a little. I feel better, so thanks for listening, fellas.....
Marc
