Las Vegas, NV..SomEbodY hELP!

I'm thinking if I should do a tranny swap on my 4th gen with a friend or either have a shop do it. I have no experience in doing tranny swaps though. I don't have any friends in Vegas that are Maxima enthusiasts or even know much about Maximas, they're mostly Honda people. But one of my friends is willing to help me with the swap since he's had experience swapping engines (with Hondas). I read the instructions in the FAQ on how to do the swap, but i'm not sure if i'll be able to pull it off. Has anyone ever had a first time experience with tranny swaps? You guys think i'll be able to pull it off with the instructions and my friend? If not then i mite need some help here...

If you are very mechanically inclined it is not hard to do. I did my first swap by myself in my in-laws driveway. I was also a helicopter mechanic for 10 years. You sound way to uncomfortable to be trying a project like this on your own. Its not hard, but lots of little things can go wrong, and if you have no troubleshooting skills, forget about it.

Try PM'ing i30krab, he's in Vegas. He has a sick I30, supercharged and all. He had just gotten his tranny rebuilt because he blew it out from too much power from his engine. He might be able to point you to the right direction.

If u are not mechanically incline and if u sorta IS.... don't attempt it cuz.... u might regret it. If u never knocked down a tranny ...forget it.

If you can read and follow direction, you can do it. You'll get some problems during the swap, but it's nothing major. I've done couple of them and it's not hard at all.
