Post 'cheaper' gas prices here!!!!!

well gas price is very high and everyone is feeling the heat.

so i figured we could help each other by posting a cheaper gas prices you see on the road, so we could save a couple bucks.

post the price, 91, i guess, since most of us here fill up with premium anywayz.

i just filled up at a Mobil on Brookhurst and Crestview(right next to the 5 Freeway on Brookhurst Exit in Home Depot plaza) for $2.25 for a gallon of 91.

oh, this is in OC btw. near Fullerton.

about a year ago, Temecula used to have cheap gas. now, LA has way much cheaper gas, roughly 10-15cents cheaper.

$2.27/gallon at Chevron, right next door to my apt

Unical 76 on Alhambra Rd and Atlantic has cheap powerful gas (car feels stronger for some reason)

Larrio's Commonwealth / Atlantic is dang cheap for Chevron.

Do not goto CostCo in Alhambra or Puente Hills. Tho cheap ($2.21 for 91oct), my car feels sluggish (almost like running Chevron) and I get knocking when loaded at low rpm (like w/AC on, starting from a stop). Kinda knew it tho, cuz their tankers are unmarked.

Ditto on Costco gas, I have sluggish performance and harsh idle with it... but chevron/shell/76 works for me fine.

i generally do not discriminate when it comes to pumping gas....as long as it's not Arco or Costco....it seems like with their gas, i'm not getting the mileage or the power...

i will get any one of these;chevron, 76, shell and mobil.

it seems like when i pump Shell or Mobil gas, my car seems to get slightly better gas mileage than when i get the other 2 brands...maybe it's just in my head.

lucky for me, my car decided to pick up on gas mileage....i've been getting a pretty consistant 24mpg(that's in LA traffic!!!).

Whoops, worded it weird. Chevron's good stuff. but I get poor performance (feels weak). Probably cuz it's ultra-clean, it don't bang as big? dunno. But chevron's whimpy in the 7 cars in my household. At least chevron gives consistent mpg.
Back on topic. The Chevron on Colima and Whittier's competitve (2.31) as well as the one on Idaho, 1 block south of Whittier (2.29)

i disagree with chevron being weak, especially if its a butt dyno on different cars. I remember my old stock 2k1 auto running a 10.12 at the irwindale 1/8 mile track with chevron gas

btw, back on topic: the cheapest gas in riverside i've found around me is the chevron on central ave, by a ralphs... at a whooping $2.39/gallon

Don't they go by the 87 price instead of the 91. That could account for the big difference.

South Bay peeps...

I call it the "Long Beach Triangle" - Corner of Cherry & Del Amo Blvd. Arco, Texaco & Exxon on that corner - all with different gas prices, but the other two usually try to compete with the Arco (which typically has the cheapest prices). I believe the midgrade was about $2.20 at Arco & Exxon, Texaco must have been about $2.25, if I'm not mistaken.

I usually drop in at the Arco for the regular unleaded (I know! I know!), which was only $2.12 today. Hey, I've been following "The Motorman," Leon Kaplan's auto advice on gas lately since the prices have, for lack of a better term, been showing their "feminine-side" of late. For those that listen to him on Sunday mornings, you already know what he says. For those that don't, he basically advises that you adhere to what the manufacturer of your vehicle recommends for fuel, so if the sticker inside the gas cap door says "Unleaded Only," you should only use regular unleaded. Otherwise, you're wasting your $$$ on gas.

but if you do the math, it only costs just a couple bucks more to fill up with premium than with regular, not a waste of money IMO

If you've got a Costco or Sam's Club membership (or if you've got a friend who does), fill up there. It's usually 10-15 cents cheaper than anywhere else, but near the end of the month they run of of gas, I guess they only get so much...

Once again, I was low on gas and had to fill up @ whatever was nearby... Puente Hills Costco was butt cheap, so I filled up. Car pinged afterwords on load.

Same thing with 76 in Alhambra Atlantic/Alhambra rd. Great price, not so great gas.

Yes, Arco's gas quality is crappy. And I think Arco has something to do with George W Bush's machinations, if not even owned by his family. So I wouldnt support it anyway.
