im paying 3.19/gal at the pump. pretty damn lame. damn gas companies are gouging us. i wonder how fat their wallets are getting right now.... bastards. but hey we still gotta drive.
Yup, the prices are getting so out-of-hand. Did you guys catch the article in this morning's [L.A.] Times? I guess some high rollers aren't even blinking at the fact that a few stations in BH and the Westside are charging as much as $4/gallon for premium. Apparently these people are paying around 100 bucks to fill up a 20 gallon tank.
For O.C. peeps:
The Shell station on Harbor Blvd./Garden Grove Blvd. is usually pretty cheap.
Well, as long it doesn't rain, I don't mind commuting in my vintage Vespa or Lambretta-it's tough to beat the mileage of a 2-stroke motorbike.
Inflation = economical depression. Many businesses will suffer because people will come to a point where no one wants to go out and buy other things anymore because they can barely afford the necessities. Our country is suffering while other countries are flourishing because our politicians don't give a damn about the people. They just want to line their pockets. We pay so much taxes and we will never see it back. People who are at poverty level out-number the wealthy people by the 10's or 100's over. Collectively, what can they do to boost the country's economy?
What a shame!

Hello Fairlady Z!!!
It's gettin' close to 4 bucks for Premium now down here in the AZ (probably more in some parts). I'm kinda pissed. Not EVERYONE has the money to pay for that stuff.

i just filled up at a Mobil on Brookhurst and Crestview(right next to the 5 Freeway on Brookhurst Exit in Home Depot plaza) for $2.25 for a gallon of 91.
ahh... the memories... those were the better ol' days!
next stop: $5/gal. It's possible. And you'll pay for it when it does. I'm sure many of us 4 years ago though $3.50 was impossible...

most ppl don't seem to understand its not that the prices are really going up, but its the value of the dollar that is going down due to inflation - which forces prices to go up
the deficit is mainly created by the gov't simply printing money to pay for stuff like imported goods, war expenses, and pork barrel projects
in other words ppl's paychecks are not going at the same rate as inflation so everything seems like its gettin more xpensive
but in reality its just ur paycheck thats losing value faster because of all the surplus cash floating around - which will cause prices to rise due to supply and demand...

Looks like someone just took a macroeconomics course....=D. Most of us understand inflation. But that doesn't mean finding cheaper gas prices isn't going make that paycheck a little less 'less-valuable.'

well gas price is very high and everyone is feeling the heat.
so i figured we could help each other by posting a cheaper gas prices you see on the road, so we could save a couple bucks.
post the price, 91, i guess, since most of us here fill up with premium anywayz.

oh, this is in OC btw. near Fullerton.
im from Chicago there is no such thing as cheap gas prices
In my limited travels, it seems like metro Cali areas don't charge separate prices for cash vs debit vs credit. Kinda odd, cuz those credit and debit fees for the gas station can add up quick! that's quite a bit of profit they're losing. Or conversely, these days, people don't wanna use their credit cards, they pay with cash. Stations are making a killing off the cash customers.
